I got two books in the mail this week for review--
How To Buy a Love of Reading by Tanya Egan Gibson (May 14, 2009 from Dutton Adult)
Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink (August 1, 2009 from Little, Brown)---YAY!!! I'm so very excited for this one and I can't wait to read it.
I also bought quite a few books. No pictures on these, just titles and authors, sorry, but I'm feelin' a little lazy today.
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr
Sophomore Switch by Abby McDonald
Jo-Jo and the Fiendish Lot by Andrew Auseon
The Comet's Curse by Dom Testa
The Faerie Path by Frewin Jones
Dream Factory by Brad Barkley & Heather Hepler
And then I checked out a book from work:
Because I Am Furniture by Thalia Chaltas, which I will probably finish tonight and post a review for soon.
As always, In My Mailbox is brought to you by the incredibly awesome and inspiring, Kristi aka The Story Siren.
That's all from me. What did you guys get? Not that I need more books to read, but I always find stuff on your sites to add to my list.
Both of the pictred books look interesting. I can't wait to read Sophomore Switch and Because I Am Furniture. I hope you enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteOooh Prophecy of the Sisters! Lucky. That one looks really good. The Faerie Path looks good too, I have it in my to be read pile.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm trying to wait awhile to read Prophecy, but I don't know if I can hold off. It's just too tempting sitting on my shelves.
ReplyDeleteI love Michelle Zink and I think you'll really like POTS.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I bought Dream Factory too! It looks really adorable, I can't wait to see what you think of it!
Catt,
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the back of Dream Factory and realized it took place at Disney I had to buy it. I'm a huge Disney park fan, so I think I'll really like it.
I have been wanting to read Prophecy of Sisters for awhile now. Can't wait to read your review and hear your two cents worth.
ReplyDeleteoooh yes!!! you will love Prophecy... sooo good!!!
ReplyDeleteNice books! =) I enjoyed reading Dream Factory. Hope you enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteHow To Buy a Love of Reading seems interesting. But really, can you BUY a love of reading? Hmm.
ReplyDeleteThat first book has an awesome cover. I would pick it up just because of that. I think that artwork would look lovely hanging on the wall in the room I plan to put up all my bookshelves! :)
ReplyDeleteOOh, Prophecy of Sisters! *is jealous*
ReplyDeleteI also got How To Buy a Love of Reading.
I'm so glad you got a copy of my book, Prophecy of the Sisters, Carrie! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
ReplyDeleteYou have some other great books to read, too. I'm a big fan of Melissa Marr's and really enjoyed Ink Exchange. I've also heard Because I am Furniture is amazing. It's on my shelf now and I'm dying to read it (I can't read when I'm writing a first draft - how much does that suck?)!
:D
I want that book! Are you sure Prophecy of the Sisters couldn't be released...like today?
ReplyDeleteI have heard of How To Buy a Love of Reading but not want it is about. I'll have to run over to Amazon.com quick. :D
ReplyDeleteI also got Prophecy of the Sisters, but my ARC cover is different than the one pictured all over the place. Is yours like that too?
Happy Readings!
I love the cover for the first! It's like a collage, totally cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!

ReplyDeletegreat books. Because I am Furniture and Prophecy both look so good.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great books this week! Hope you enjoy them all :)
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited this week. I love that we are all so pumped for new books. These are my kind of people. I love the YA blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteAnd Michelle, I'm soooo elated to have your book in my hands and I can't wait to get into it.
xoxo,
Carrie
I want to read Prophecy Sisters, seems like it's going to be a great book. I have also purchased Fragile Eternity and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I really enjoyed Ink Exchange. Congrats on Prophecy Sisters, looks like an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteI liked Sophomore Switch a lot. And I can't wait to see what you thought of Because I Am Furniture.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Great haul. Prophecy of the Sisters seems like a really good book.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited that you received my book, Carrie!
ReplyDeleteTechnically, it's being published by the adult division of Dutton -- rather than as YA -- but from the beginning I've envisioned a varied audience of readers. Because I read a lot of YA and love it, I wanted to write sort of a hybrid book that straddles the YA and adult fiction realms. I'm excited to see, in the coming months, how readers of different ages will react to it!
prophecy of sisters cover reminds me of midnight in the garden of good and evil by john berendt which i loved. so i'll most likely give this book a read. loooove the cover for how to buy a love of reading. tanya's comment here has got me curious so i want to get this one too.
